“The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” - Genesis 2:15 (NIV)

In the beginning, God creates the heavens and earth, and leaves the care of this beautiful place as a responsibility to humanity. As current inhabitants of Earth, we have been called to take care of it, and just like how God tends creation, so we too, as being in God’s own image, should follow God’s example. The Earth is in desperate need of help with global warming, melting snow caps, deforestation of tropical rainforests, mostly due to the globalization and industrialization that has occurred in the past few decades.

What we should do, instead, is make better use of the resources God has created for us.  We need to become aware of the consequences that lie in wait for us should we fail to take care of the planet He has provided.  Treat nature with the value instilled in it, and we will be rewarded.
