“Portfolio courses are important for student growth. Explore a student Portfolio developed from a perspective of wholeness.
This type of Portfolio will be especially useful in universities that emphasize service to others or that are established in connection with a faith tradition. This type of Portfolio will also be useful to universities that are not connected with a faith tradition, but that are interested in student wholeness.
At Loma Linda University, the Wholeness Portfolio was developed twelve years ago within the School of Allied Health Professions and grew out of LLU’s motto, “To Make Man Whole.” It is one example of the ways in which a university motto can drive program development. The initial purpose of the Wholeness Portfolio was to help each student explore personal growth and wholeness as well as develop professional skills that could be packaged in a way to be shared with others. Because of the success of this Portfolio, other schools at LLU are exploring ways of sharing resources campus-wide for Portfolios developed within their disciplines. We invite you to explore the Wholeness Portfolio and to learn from the resources established for that Portfolio.
The Wholeness Portal is a product of creative ingenuity generously provided by dozens of individuals in various disciplines who have contributed everything from articles to creative design and consulting advice to help create this web portal.
