Human beings are capable of experiencing a wide variety of emotions. Emotions are subjective experiences, often associated with mood, temperament, personality, and disposition. None of these emotions are immoral per se, however, what we do as a result of these emotions can be quite another matter. We should learn to be good stewards of our inner lives. By sharing our perspectives and feelings with other people that we trust, and through prayer and meditation we make it possible to understand and control our emotions.
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Proverbs 16:32, RSV
